Sunday, February 1, 2026- Grace & Truth

What does it mean to truly engage with the world around us as followers of Christ? This powerful message reminds us that Jesus came 'full of grace and truth'—not just one or the other, but both in overflowing abundance. Like a glass filled to the brim, Jesus was so saturated with grace and truth that every interaction, every movement, caused these qualities to spill out onto everyone around Him. We're challenged to examine our own lives: Are we leading with grace while proclaiming truth, or are we stuck on one extreme? The story of the woman caught in adultery from John 8 beautifully illustrates this balance—Jesus didn't condemn her (grace), yet He told her to 'go and sin no more' (truth). Grace saves us, but truth frees us. When we only offer truth without grace, we become judgmental and harsh, pushing people away through rebellion. When we only offer grace without truth, we fall into relativism, where anything goes and there are no standards. But when we lead with grace and proclaim truth, we mirror Christ Himself. We create spaces where people can belong before they believe, where they experience God's love first and then discover His transforming truth. This isn't about being 'halfway there' like that fictional insurance company—it's about being fully present with both the kindness of God and the liberating power of His Word.
